01 Grounding: Gemini answers lean on Google Search
Gemini is Google's assistant, and Google built it to ground factual answers in Search. When a user asks Gemini which provider to pick, the model can query Google's index, weigh what ranks, and fold those sources into its reply. The set of pages Google already trusts becomes the set of pages Gemini reasons from. Two decades of ranking signals did not get thrown away when Google shipped an assistant; they became its fact-checking layer.
That is the shortest honest explanation of Gemini visibility we can give: brands present in Google's trusted sources are the brands present in Gemini's answers. Everything in our program serves that presence.
02 Gemini and AI Overviews overlap, but they are not the same
AI Overviews are Gemini-powered summaries stitched into the results page, citing a handful of sources above the organic links. The Gemini app and assistant are conversational: one composed answer, sometimes one recommended brand, with grounding invoked as the model needs it. Both favor sources Google already trusts, which is why the same earned coverage tends to move both.
The difference is what winning looks like. In AI Overviews, you win a cited slot among several. In Gemini, you can win the recommendation itself. We track them as separate columns in the same monthly report, because the surfaces respond on different schedules.
03 The links that move organic move Gemini
Backlinks and press coverage are how AI learns to trust a brand, and Google is the clearest case of it. Editorial placements work on Gemini through three channels. High-authority articles enter the corpora Google's models train on. Grounding retrieves and cites those same pages live. And the citation graph around your brand, who links to you and in what context, is the machine-readable reputation Google has been reading for decades.
Clean markup helps Gemini read you, but only earned coverage convinces it to repeat you. A home services brand covered in real regional and trade press gives Gemini something solid to ground on. A brand with a beautiful site and no third-party record gives it nothing. The practical consequence is convenient: every editorial placement we earn does double duty, moving your organic presence and your Gemini presence with the same link.
04 Android, Workspace, and the size of the surface
As of mid-2026, Gemini ships as the default assistant on new Android devices and sits inside Gmail, Docs, and the rest of Workspace. That is an enormous set of everyday surfaces where a recommendation question can be asked and answered without a results page ever loading. Buyers increasingly meet brands inside a composed answer, in the middle of their work, and the brands Gemini can verify are the brands it names. If your category gets decided in those moments, absence from Google's trusted sources is absence from the decision.
05 What a Gemini program includes
A Gemini visibility retainer is built on the same product as everything we sell: editorial backlinks from real publications, earned through PR campaigns.
- A guaranteed minimum of monthly press placements, from five on Foundation (see retainers)
- A fixed prompt panel re-run monthly across Gemini, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot
- Entity and citation cleanup plus schema.org structured data, so the facts Google reads about you agree with each other
- Quotable content engineering: original data and clear positions that coverage, and grounding, can quote
06 What we will not promise
We never guarantee that Gemini will recommend you, never guarantee rankings or revenue, and never name a specific publication as certain. AI answers vary by prompt, by user, and by model version, and Google revises how grounding and AI Overviews behave without notice. What we show instead is the trend: your Gemini visibility measured as mention frequency against a fixed prompt panel, month over month, alongside the placements driving it. Honest measurement is part of the product, not a disclaimer attached to it.
